Introduction to Rope Soloing
This is not a manual.
This technique is a lot of work. This process is very complex and extremely dangerous. Read information about the Silent Partner for information regarding how solo climbing is done. The following description is purely to satisfy your interest and not a manual.
1. Build a multi-directional anchor.
2. Lead a pitch.
3. Build another anchor.
4. Rappel down to the anchor below you.
5. Attach yourself to this anchor.
6. Set yourself up for ascending the rope (either ascenders or if you want to climb again a self belay device).
7. Dismantle the bottom anchor.
8. Re-ascend this pitch to the anchor above.
9. Repeat from step 2 on.
That sounds simple right? Now consider traversing pitches or massive overhangs. These situations greatly complicate the experience. If extreme endurance stunts (both mentally and physically) are your type of thing read more about this.
