Double Fishermans

In rock climbing, the double fishermans knot is often used to tie two ropes together (example: for full rope length rappels), and to tie two ends of a rope or cord together to form a loop (example: a cordlette). A fishermans knot tied at the end of a single strand of rope is useful as a stopper knot, to prevent the rope from slipping through the belay device.
