A superb all mountain twin tip, the side cut of this ski allows this ski to ride through crud and still be floating through the powder. The weight of the ski makes it easy to maneuver through the trees with ease and not worrying if your ski is gonna turn when you do. The skis are still pretty wide coming in at 94 mm the fat shovel keep the tips up when you are riding in the powder and this keep your tails nice and deep for a comfortable ride. The skis uses Volkl's new Tough Box Technology which involves layers of fiberglass being wrapped around the core material this creates a strong platform which the bindings can be drilled into, which translates to less worries when you are going big, which is always an important fact. The core is wood which is always a good feature to find and they have surprisingly kept the weight down considering it is. The ski can ride like a race ski on mountain but always keep you up in the powder.
If you plan to ride switch on the ski a lot not one of the best rides.
Not feeling Volkl? Well check out the Line Prophet 90 for another all mountain twin ski that will perform many places.
I have the 2007 model year and this ski is everything and more written in the reviews. I have used it for 2 years in Utah and it is a great all mountain ski. Powder is great good in trees as well, groomed even ice and crude this is a great ski.
SUPER all mountain ski for CO! It does well in pow, and in bowels, in the crud, it is unstoppable. The 177 is big enough for all but the real deep pow; and small enough to be super maneuverable in the bumps.
Best ski on the mountain. Awesome all-mountain ski that is fat enough for those powder days out west but can handle east coast conditions pretty smoothly too. Great all-around ski for the int/adv skier!
