| It's funny, depending on where you climb these are either standard practice or the best way to wave a "I Suck And I'm Proud About It" flag. But regardless they do the job just fine. |
| There are multiple painter pole + clip or pre-made wire based solutions available that seem simpler and of course cheaper. |

| You can find a big stick and use some tape to do the same thing. Or use a crashpad if you've got one with you. Or you can climb up to the first clip and clip it with your hand. |
