The integrated carbon spider’s design is lightweight and extremely stiff, allowing for instant, efficient power transfer.

Speed-sapping friction? The Red Crankset virtually eliminates it with new hybrid ceramic bearings housed within the GXP™ BB’s case. Ceramic bearings ride in a stainless steel race, are more efficient, use a lighter seal, and are lighter, stiffer, and longer-lasting than normal bearings.

Matched to the new crankset is an equally revolutionary pair of chainrings. Optimized exclusively for Red components, they’re stiffer than anything ever before, for greater efficiency as well as incredible power-transfer ability.

The Red crankset is available in 170mm, 172.5mm, and 175mm. It needs a GXP BlackBox bottom bracket in the choice of English or Italian threads. And it's available in 53/39 and 50/34 chainring configurations. One final note: SRAM Red compact cranksets don't require a special compact-specific front derailleur. You use the same Red front derailleur for the 53/39 as you do for the 50/34. Please note that the 750g weight is for the crankset plus the bottom bracket. The crankset alone weighs 652g. A GXP Ceramic bottom bracket is 98g.
