Have a question about this product?
Question:
Are Sram Groups (Force & Rival) compatible with other systems on the market?
Answer:
SRAM Exact Actuation components are compatible with the most prevalent, high quality 10-speed chains, cassettes, double crank sets and chainrings available in the market today. Force and Rival front shifters/derailleurs are designed together and cannot be mixed with other FD/SLs on the market. Force and Rival brake pads & cartridges are also interchangeable with Shimano D/a-10 compatible pads & cartridges.
Question:
What is the largest rear cog you can use with the Force or Rival rear derailleur? Other drive train capacities?
Answer:
The new Force and Rival rear derailleurs are designed to work down to an 11 tooth cog they will expand to a max 27 tooth rear cog. The Front derailleur will work with a 50 tooth, and up to a 54 tooth large chain ring, and is optimized for a 16 tooth max Large ring/Small ring differential.
Question:
How is the chain joined?
Answer:
Srams chain engineers have developed a new, super strong and consistent chain joining technology called PowerLock. Because of the high performance and strength requirements of ultra narrow 10-speed chains, Sram opted to avoid pin based joining technology, and take the subjective touch out of proper installation. The PowerLock is simple, very strong and installs securely every time.
