The Smith Variant Brim Helmet is new for 2007. The Variant Brim Helmet offers a sleek and lightweight helmet perfect for backcountry skiing or just for a few runs down the slope. Even with its new lightweight design, the Variant Brim Helmet does not sacrifice safety. The upper construction of the helmet is made of nearly indestructible injected-molded ABS. The bottom half of the construction is made with a tough yet light polycarbonate shell and EPS foam liner. This hybrid construction allowed Smith to include new ventilation features on the Variant Brim. The Low-Profile Regulator allows you to adjust the amount of venting you want by adjusting a vent slider from completely open to half open to completely closed. Also, the AirEvac 2 allows for the moist air around your goggles and on the top of your head to escape. Both of these new improvements make Smith’s Variant Brim Helmet more comfortable by allowing you to adjust the ventilation based on the conditions on the slope. Additionally, the Smith Variant Brim Helmet includes the the adjustable Helmet Fit System from Smith, providing a custom fit. The Smith Variant Brim Helmet gives you a sleek helmet with great ventilation perfect for a full day on the mountain.
