Cred: 803 | | Decent weight, adjustable reliable. Sure, they're not the best mud clearing design out there, but shimano has been doing this design since the early 90s. That means that if it's nasty muddy they might jam up but can be easily cleared out with a multi-tool or stick.
Compared to other pedals like the Crank Bros, these have a larger platform and are admittedly heavier, but don't give riders a hot spot under foot like a smaller pedal tends to. |
| Totally rebuildable and serviceable. I still routinely use the first generation of this pedal on one bike and it runs like a dream. |

Cred: 4460 | | Quality, adjustable good feel. The quality is the major difference in the jump from standard to XT after 9 years and no problems I am a believer. Great if you can get them on sale but can't imagine a noticeable difference to the XTR price jump. |
