Cred: 255 | | Great platform for rough terrain so you can keep pedaling while trying to clip in. Also great for the bike that you will occasionally ride without special riding shoes (but don't try this for long distances). |
| A little heavy, but worth the weight when your cleats have filled with mud, and you're trying to get rolling over roots, rocks, and mud. I wore out one pair over four years of hard use. Eventually the outside cage supports wore through, but that was after lots of abuse. |
| One might try the Crank Bros. eggbeaters, but I like being able to adjust the tension on my SPDs. Also, he was having a harder Time clipping in than I was during our last mud fest. |

| Excellent if you'll be riding some unclipped. Easy to clip in and very adjustable. |
