Trustworthy, will lock up no matter how you fall, self-feeds on lead, no need for a chest harness, can rappel with it as well once you're done with a pitch
gear intensive (not specific to silent partner, but soloing in general), has to attain a certain speed before it locks (really only matters if using it to TR - you'll fall farther with this on TR than you will with some other soloing devices)
none have the same Quality features and trustworthiness as the silent partner, but some people use a soloist or grigri (but they won't lock if you have an inverted fall)

Locks quick, less rope hassles than any other rope solo lead device
still have to deal with rope feeding with lots of rope out
