lightweight, fantastic price, and indispensible for emergencies. No matter what the route, i keep this little guy and a prussic loop with me.
this is a very touchy item. Works well, but in an emergency your mind might be elsewhere, and if you don't operate it properly it can shred a rope sheath pretty bad.
full on ascenders, prussics or autoblocking belay device

It's light.
Though this might originally look like a great tool I would buy a Reverso, learn how to use it as an emergency ascender and save your self the 25 bucks. Improvised prussics work great as well.
Reverso or prussics.

Small light, cheaper than other ascenders.
I agree with everything Marks said, and have heard from more than a few friends that it will shred your rope if you are at all "off" with it...

Small, lightweight, Wonderful product for mt rescue when looking for lightweight backup gear and you don't want to rely on a prusik knot with icy rope
Easy to loose, sharp teeth causes rope to fray over multiple uses

Good for Emergencies, or pothole escape while canyoneering.
Shouldn't be used accept in an emergency. The teeth have been known to rip through the sheath and damage the core of the rope. They arent very easy to use either.

Nice to have in a pinch. Stays fast & easy to move. Small & light, easily fits on a carabiner with a sling for a quick rescue kit.
If used improperly the tibloc shreds rope.

Works better than a prussik loop and doesn't weigh much
Needs setting on the rope carefully or the sheath gets tatty

Excellent light weight piece of gear to have on any serious limbers belt. Clip it to your belt with the DMM Revolver for two great pieces of rescue gear.
Hey Durnin113
I have seen that happen with the Tibloc.
You have be careful that it is well set into the fibers on the sheath before you load it. I found the best way to achieve this is to make sure you have a good locking carabiner in the slot.

works well
hard to use, you have to entirely take off the carabiner to detach
