| Petzl Stop 4 out of 5 based on 4 user reviews.
Cred: 12137 | | Review by Troy on Feb. 13, 2008 | | Good for short drops, like 100 feet or so. When I'm hanging completely, I can usually come to a complete stop. You can easily tie it off to come to a complete, non slowly slipping, stop. Easy to rig. Fireman's belay still works with this piece. |
| I do find that when I don't have all my weight on the rope (like I have my feet against the wall or what not) that this guy slowly lets out rope. I haven't seen (because I don't let new users borrow this piece) but i have heard of new users panicking and griping the device tightly, then falling (because they are depressing the handle, which makes you go down)... so not for the casual user. |
| Kong makes a piece with an antipanic mode. If the user presses down too hard, it locks up. SRT (out of australia) makes a version that can come to a complete, legit stop, no matter what posistion you are in... which is nice, but those are REALLY hard to find in the states. |

| The handle makes them a little heavier and just complicates things. |

| slowly slips in some positions and can be a little confusing to set up the first few times. |
