Incredible tool! This is one hell of a hooker. Might cost a pretty penny, but will treat you right. In all reality, 70% of the time this tool sets up on the first swing every time. After climbing on antiquated tools, this is night and day. Love them!
Getting used to the leashes. Don't let the strap get wet (hard to do on warmer days). Makes them much harder to tighten up.
These tools are perfect for steeper alpine climbs and allow to be easily held in variety of ways to easily adapt to any climb and steepness.
There is nothing I can say about bad features but I would say that changing out the leashes that attach to the shaft o the tool for leashes that hook to the eye at the base of the tool and back to you harness.
Love this tool. Most of the time you only require one swing on ice. The tool is has great balance and a nice weight to it. With the grip rests on it, this is an exceptional leashless tool.
If it comes with those slider leashes in the pic, get rid of them. They are crap. Try a BD lockdown leash or androids if you want to have a leash.
