Eases racking of screws, holds tools for decent, remain ridged on harness not flopping around. Cheap.

occasionally the wire gates bends around the nose and complicates maneuvers. Doesn't go in all the right places on petzl adjama harness.

For a Black Diamond harness use the BD ice clippers

Awesome to use with the Petzl Corax to rack gear a little better. They are cheap, pretty durable and just awesome.

Plastic, I've never seen one break but I imaging it isn't too uncommon.

Black Diamond makes a version of this for their harnesses.

The clip feature helps keep the Caritool in place and adds stability. Easy to load and unload.

Since it's made of plastic, it can flex and bend, the wire gate can be flexed out of position.
