Cred: 2509 | | Great for use with anchors and belay devices (the rounded shape minimizes friction). For sport, I keep one for anchors, one for my belay device, and the other as a utility locker with my rescue setup. The round surface is perfect for the petzl tibloc. Smooth and easy manipulation as well as easy to feed rope through whether a belay device or munter hitch. |
| This is pretty heavy, and for the weight, i prefer a bigger utility biner on longer climbs. The gate opening is a little small |
| If you want a big one for the same weight and half the price, get a BD rocklock. |

| Just a top notch Piece of gear!
Smooth action, long life, Key Lock, quick on the rope, and quickly locked. red is dead line let's you know it's unlocked. Great for Top rope anchors and belaying. |

I got these free from a buddy who works at a hardware store, so I guess they are popular enough to be used by non-climbers. |
