great for specific functions, regarding rigging and added safety. The only place I use these is for running the rope through in a toprope application, it is plenty strong for this application, and eliminates pinching of the rope that can be caused from 2 opposing "d's"

not as strong as a "d" biner.

where else will you find an oval locker?

Good overall anchor biner. I use two of them to run the rope through for a top rope anchor.

Nothing special. A bit heavy. Not as strong as D.
