Cred: 2643 | | These are cheap, and fairly reliable. They are simple to use and work well with thicker diameter ropes. You can set them up at the top of a rappel to lower someone who is not very confident. They are anodized, which is nice, but on some anodized 8's sometimes you wear through the first layer and it starts to chew your rope up pretty good. You can do a soft lock with these. |
| Twist the rope like crazy. Very fast on rappel if your on thin ropes. Doesn't have ears to prevent the rope from sliding over the top and creating a larks foot, trapping you on rope. |
