If you are going to be finding your self in an area with cold weather in the forecast this is a solid contender for your number one pick as a mid layer. The jacket can be thrown on and you all of a sudden feel like you climbed into your sleeping bag.
I personally could have done without the chest pocket but thats just me.
I would recommend a jacket made from this same Polartec Thermal Promaterial but if this one doesn't fit you well find something with a different cut.

I actually hate this jacket. I bought it for my boyfriend and every time he wears it, women can't stop touching him. It is almost TOO soft. Men, be careful. Ladies, keep your man away from this thing.

Super warm, soft and form fitting. Really like the length of sleeves for reaching up and not exposing your forearms. NOT windproof, but that makes it super breathable. Had mine for 7 years now and it looks more like cookie monster road kill than the new soft jackets but is still my warm go to.

SUPER warm. Fuzzy outside attracts the ladies.
Runs a little short in the arms and very short in the torso. Then again, I'm 6'0", 160 lbs. I ordered the medium and it fits around my torso well, but barely reaches my belt.
Patagonia R4 is just as warm and is also super windproof, but bulkier and costs $100 more.

amazing insulator, and super comfy. i wear this thing all the time. the chest pocket is useful and its well designed and built. the zipper has a little covering so when its up on your chin and mouth its not cold. a couple of nice touches which make this jacket great.
not so great in wind. very porous, but not really a problem as its usually a mid layer.

Polartec fleece is breathable when temp increases and warm when it gets cold, so I don't have to worry about taking the jacket off and storing it. Attractive to the eye and durable.
So far I have absolutely no complaints.
I would Look into the Hardwear rain gear if you outdoor during the spring/summer.

SUPER FUZZY MONKEY PHUR (gotta love the name)
trust me you will get complements and looks

I like the pocket I put my cell in it while not on the mountain.

Did I say it looks great! its also nice and tight fitting.
as fb pointed out doesn't stop wind, you can actually see light through it when held up to a light source.
I haven't seen any comparable fuzziness!

Extreemly comfortable. Very nice for fall/spring or walking around campus.
Not made with windstopper so it doesn't keep you warm in the blustery wind.
Probart or Offwidth

Love it! Lightweight. Fantastic insulator under a shell. Breathes well enought that it can be worn in cool weather without overheating.

Warm, fuzzy, good looking. Perfect for a layer or a day without wind. Also perfect as just a sweater to wear on bitter cold days.
Wind goes right through it. This can be combated with a nice shell.

Love this jacket so much. I wouldn't ever trade it.
Not wind proof but no big deal its the most comfortable thing I own.
Maybe a north face wind stopper.

Kept me toasty in the Himalaya. Packs light and made extremely durable. The ladies can't keep their hands off either. Wash it with a little baking soda and it cleans right up too.
