Awesome cushioning. I've used mine 2-4 times a week for 9 months now and it's still going strong. I'm talking about crashing down on it hundreds if not thousands of times. The buckles, straps, etc... all look pretty new still. It's obviously dirty as sin, but nothing a good washing wouldn't take care of. The cover can be removed for washing or foam replacement.

The shoulder straps and hip belt work fine. The 45 degree angle middle connection is superbly better than the standard 90 degree sandwich style. Just think about it this way, there is no "crack" in the middle of your pad that doesn't really have good foam under it. This pad is my bomb pad of choice for the money.
Small, but that's why it's cheap.
Madrock, but I don't like them nearly as much.

Why do you want a soft crash pad? Personally I think the Metolius foam is the best on the market today. The fact that it isn't cushy is what keeps your ankle in one piece.

You know when you fall on it you are going to be ok. good thickness and nice stiffness for bigger landings. Best if used in conjunction with another similar pad.
Very simple so can't pack stuff into the middle like you can with others when folded up as stuff falls out the bottom.
Organic pads.

i love this pad it is the perfect size for fast paced bouldering circuits and perfect for hard bouldering if you have a spotter.its light and comfortable and its very thick so its fine for highball bouldering.this is a great pad if your strapped for cash.
the pad is very hard when you first get it and takes a while to soften up.
no alternatives this is the best medium sized pad out there.
