No "break-in" time needed. These shoes come out the box and right to the mud. They grip up and down steep rocks or wet grass or loose rocks giving you the confidence to run without looking down all the time. Excellent ventilation for hot-humid days and excellent protection from 10 degree days. Very water resistant. All in all a 5 star shoe ready to trail.
