With so few shoes on the market that lace to the toe it's nice to find a few that do. Sportiva did a fine job lasting the shoe and it really kind of looks cool too. It works wonderfully as a flat pedal Freeride mt. bike shoe. I like the fit-very slipper like.
This shoe is about as greasy as they come. I would never trust this sole with my life while setting up a TR or any activity involving careful and delicate footwork. It sticks to very little and wears out too dang fast-not a good quality for an approach shoe. Though I like the fit nicely, I would not use the mythos lacing system for any shoe that will be worn in various conditions-the laces cease to synch down after a short time. Also, my feet slide a bit inside the shoe-unlike the "guide tennie" from five ten.
Five Ten guide-though it suffers from lack of cushion and therefore not a good choice for long hauls. It's tough to recommend much here. Many good shoes have come and gone due to the need for companies to keep fashion interest high. Double eyelets at the top is always a nice touch and allows the wearer to cam tension the shoe and keep it from falling off your heel. Sticky rubber always helps.
