Kelty Red Cloud 5600 | Kelty Red Cloud 5600 3.9 out of 5 based on 8 user reviews.
Cred: 647 | | The pack is huge
Hipbelt (with the Scherer cinch) is really nice
Good access to the main compartment, top loading and with a back zipper, and a bottom zipper.
Brain detaches into a daypack
For its size, it's pretty comfortable
Very reasonably priced compared to other packs its size

| The pack is huge (now that I have a smaller pack too, I usually do everything I can to limit what I bring so I don't have to haul this monster.) |
| Osprey Aether and Xeon packs (if you want to make the price jump) |

Cred: 158 | | Big. Looks like too many straps along the front. |
| Packs are never big enough, just too darn heavy. The lower access panel seems accessible. |
| I looked at the Kelty RED Cloud series a few years ago but ended up getting a Jansport Rockies 100 (found in a closeout deal for just over $100). The lower compartment as well as the top have straps to tighten the load, which the RED Cloud seems to lack. While I like the feature of adding load on top, I find packs harder to maneuver when I put much up there. |

Cred: 820 | | Nice size. Lots of pockets, organization and access. Decent hip belt. Lumbar pack lid is cool and useful. Adjustable frame. Durable materials. |
| I can never get the shoulder strap/load lifters to work properly. I usually adjust them before I put the pack on (not the right way to do it, but it works, kinda). Not great packed above 35 pounds.
Zippers are a little weak. Zipper on sleeping bag compartment usually don't open easy. |

Cred: 668 | | Good for Long trips or short trips where you may have to take extra gear. Plenty of space, esy to pack and organize. Tuff - will last |
| Careful - easy to over pack so not recommended for an overnighter |
|
Cred: 29 | | sturdy suspension, fits everything (and more) |
| Too big. Velcro everywhere to scratch you |
|
Cred: 3 | | Plenty of room on the trail or the plane with pockets like a external frame. |
