| Jetboil Flash 4.6 out of 5 based on 10 user reviews.
Cred: 1088 | | I have the PCS Java kit. I love that jetboil offers the french press accessory for free when you buy the kit.
I resisted getting a jetboil for a long long time, but there's a reason everyone uses them. It's an all in one system. Easy to use, reasonably light, fuel efficient, and compact. |
| I would give this 4 stars, but there's one big issue I have with jetboil. Aside from menial complaints like the heat indicators on the side can get hot enough to burn your skin and some other small complaints that keep it from 5 stars, it really really annoys me that you need to purchase a separate $15 pot support to use anything other than the jetboil cup with this. And the pot support comes with a stabilizer for the bottom of the fuel canister that's identical to the one you get when you buy the Flash PCS. Why do they think you need two of these? Why force you to buy an accessory you already have because it happens to be packaged with one you want and not offer them separately? And why can't the pot support be built in so you don't have to carry yet another accessory for the jetboil?
UPDATE: As of July 2011, the plastic portion of my jetboil burner melted. It was still functional, but the pot was a little wobbly and the burner would no longer fit inside the pot. They are repairing it for free, all I had to do was ship it to them. The return process was quick and painless, just minutes after an email went to them they responded with a RA# for me and instructions. All I had to do was pay shipping to them. Just thought you should know. |
| If I were to go back in time, I would've waited a month or two for the Primus ETA Solo to come out. Same price point (maybe a little less even), exact same design, faster boil time, more efficient on fuel. And the best part, it includes what Jetboil considers optional accessores: a pot support for use with any pot or cup, and a hanging kit. |

Cred: 264 | | Just like advertised this stove will boil two cups of water in a "flash" (under two minutes). The flame feature in the neoprene covering shows when the contents are hot, without having to open the lid and look inside. This model fixes a few flaws of the classic, the flash includes the base stabilizer for added stability. This is a great stove with varying levels of temperatures. The whole kit (including gas) stores within the mug fully protected from whatever you throw at it. |
| In windy high altitude situations the flame seems to be affected, doesn't blow out, but the time to boil is slightly longer. Also placement of the jetboil can be tricky in snow and steep slopes, tipping is an issue. |
| For a lighter weight stove that will take up less space one could go with a brunton, but they will not be as effective in boiling water as fast. For more people go with the Jetboil GCS (Group Cooking System). |

Cred: 33 | | Basically Awesome. It's great for long camping trips, especially those that include some intense rock climbing. You can hang the Jet Boiler up when you cook. It heats things up in such a short amount of time. I love it. And you can't go wrong with one. |

Cred: 27 | | Review by wbetke on Nov. 21, 2011 | | Very light, smaller fuel and burner fit inside cup. Great not only for cooking food while camping, but for warming up a warm drink during any outdoor winter pursuit. |
| The tripod for the fuel canister broke within a few uses, but the jetboil is easier to just hang up. |
