If I buy a color Garmin GPS for more than $300, why cant they just install it on my model before shipping.?An EXPENSIVE add on.

I found FREE maps to install on the web. US parks, states, etc. I just searched "free Garmin topo maps". I downloaded the installer for free also.

Just got 2008 have not used yet. Will update after Gila. 2000 version was great. Plenty of detail. Great for off trail stuff.

I've used this for backpacking and geocaching. The maps are great but the updates are even better (and free).

works for the gps

detail is small

go for national park packs for more detail
