I got this for work purposes, but also liked the fact that it could be a good jacket for mild snowboarding days and xc skiing. It's got clean lines and a nice large hood - the vent zips are on the front so if you're facing forward, this is a good venting jacket. Rated 10k/10k, its a good chore jacket and I've been out in the rain and been happy, but I don't want to test out its waterproofing really.
The vent zips are connected to the pockets, so its possible to screw it up and drop the stuff in your pockets while venting yourself. It doesn't have cinches on the wrist or draw cord on the waist so unless you use this as a layering piece, i'd have my doubts on powder days. That being said, the price point is good and the features at this level are to be expected.
There's definitely alternatives that are better and more technical to be had out there, but since this is my first jump into the softshell style I cannot say I'd recommend one more than another.
