Good Features Light, balanced, and tons of clearance. The CAMP Awax swings much better than I could have imagined. I didnt expect too much from this ultralight tool, but the swing and geometry have been worked out so you dont need the weight of a heavy head for solid sticks. The leashless version provides enough support not to worry about losing a hand, about the same as a Viper with Fang. The down sides of this tool are that while the pick is well designed it is one piece along with the hammer which could make it a pain to replace. Also the head design is thick making it nearly impossible to fit two tools onto a single biner. With the leashless set up you loose the biner hole in the butt. But this axe is light, alpine friendly, and well suited to anyone who wants clean sticks for a few extra pounds. This does mean it doesnt have the feel of a hammer like swing of BD tools but the sticks are just as good is not better than BDs. Recommended Alternatives BD Viper, Cobra, Reactor, Grivel TaaKoon, |

Good Features Incredibly light and very well balanced. My friends were all very skeptical but when they used the Awax the first time it was all positive thoughts. The biggest advantage is how much clearance is available. Ive also dry tooled and the stability is perfect. Bad Features May need to tighten the head screws. | Login to add comments. Was this useful? Good Features They're pretty light and the swing seems ok for me. I haven't yet climbed with them enough to form a solid opinion. | Login to add comments. Was this useful?
