| Black Diamond Cobra Ice Axes 5 out of 5 based on 4 user reviews.
Cred: 2509 | | Had a pair of vipers, then they were stolen and got reimbursed by the airline. So i upgraded during a sale. Totally worth it. These are the best tools i have ever swung. They are intuitive, but definitely feel different than other tools. Not a bad thing, just the feel of the carbon fiber. The weight is in the head and with the laser pick, allows for wrist-flick sticks which is amazing on delicate mixed terrain and hanging pillars. Android leash is incredible and easy to attach/detach. Of course this tool feels so natural in your hands, I don't know why you'd want a leash until you get the the ridiculously hard climbing. This tool is perfect for anything alpine and ice, and most any mixed climbing. |
| because of the dampening effect of the carbon fiber, there less sensitivity than you would find in an aluminum/steel tool. This is not a problem on ice, but looking for dime edges when mixed climbing takes some getting used to. |

(But nothing really compares to the feel of the carbon fiber) |

Cred: 1096 | | I love this tool. The flick is precise. It stick so very easy and cleans easy as well. The damping effect of the carbon it very easy on the forearms, after a full day my arms are not experiencing that tingling effect that aluminum has after hours of climbing. I really hope carbon becomes more of a trend in ice tools |
| The grip is a bit large for my hands, but a bit of grip tape in the right spots make it good. |
| Petzl Nomics are a wonderful tool as well. |
