This is my gaitor of choice. Whether it be hiking the backcountry, fending off tearing brambles whatever... these gaitors are hardcore. I've had mine for going on 6 years now, and I've absolutely wrecked them so many times, and I just take a hose and spray them off. They even shrugged off an attack from my dog (avid chewer) with minimal damage. I'm impressed.
Equal success with plastic boots and trail runners in snow, scree and rock. Very durable and pretty comfortable too! The shot cord closer at the top is way better than buckles or straps. A size down from recommended will work with trail runners or light hikers.
High cut at the heal doesn't seal as well as a full back with lighter footwear. Non replaceable rubber strap.
