Great first belay device, allows great control gripping the rope as well as it does. Great package price for a belay device and a carabeiner, which is what sold me on it.
The device has very deep teeth that really grab the rope, which is a strong positive and a negative. Makes lowing the climber down smoothly or rapidly more difficult.
None, again for just starting out this package provides a belay device and a carabeiner so it was a win win for me.
