The first time I used this pad was for a 4 night trip through GSMNP in June. After walking up to 15 miles a day, the pad was welcome relief. The thickness and comfort was worth every one of the 18 breaths it takes to blow it up. It totally absorbed all of the irregularities in the ground under me. Also, it is light weight and packs small. Excellent size/weight/comfort mix.
The first of these pads I bought had a slow leak. Be sure to check for leaks before leaving the house the first time.
I would recommend the insulated air core if you do much colder weather camping.
Very firm, to soft depending on how much you blow it up. Very comfortable.
Somewhat slippery if on an incline.
Takes time to blow up and deflate, but worth it.
Have to be careful w/ it, mine developed a leak that I had to send in for repair.
Will grow mold inside if not careful.
