Atomic Crimson Ti

Very light for an 86 mm waisted ski. Easy to turn. Kind of pretty to look at.
I demoed this ski on a cruddy day in the PNW. I will admit I spent an hour on the new Volkl AC50 (Which is the most bad-ass front-side ski ever, IMO) preceeding my time on the Crimson, but it really is NOT a performer. It's a total pretender that does not like to be pushed hard or fast. It would be an option, albeit an expensive one, for a beginner. It is light and easy to turn, but also easy to lose control. Requires lots of input to keep it travelling in the desired arc. Also, a ton of vibration was transmitted through the ski, and that is not only tiring, but kind of scary! Perhaps a smaller or less aggressive skier would feel different. If you're a rich gaper who wants to unload some cash on mediocre equipment, the Crimson is your plank!
If you are an expert, you probably aren't even reading this. If you are a learner, you can get better skis for less money...from the same company!
