Great Fit. Great capacity. Just took it on a 3 mile walk in a moderate drizzle for about an hour. I checked every compartment - The only place I got a little bit of water is the top lid; I'm guessing it leaked through the seams which got saturated quickly due to direct angle of impact.
Stiff belt and straps if the load is very light for this pack ~35 lbs or below.
no alternatives, this pack is in it's own class for durability, reliability and comfort. People that count ounces Look elsewhere.

excellent pack! fully customizable to your body shape. Removable lid doubles as a fanny pack. Many many pockets and entrance points. Best to have a buddy help you fine tune the pack and bend the aluminum support stays to the contours of your back.
Bad things Adjustments to shoulder straps, back panel, and lumbar pad are all held together via velcro. The hook side of the velcro will chew your hands raw while your are making adjustments. I've also heard that velcro looses its grip if wet...time will tell.
If you want to see an excellent adjustment system and suspension system, check out kifaru packs. They are a bit heavier, less features, but are bomb proof and built for the military.

Large pack for extended trips. I love that it is easy to compartmentalize my gear and water. Harness is a good fit and the hip belt is really nice. Lots of places to stash extra stuff outside.
My nalgene water bottles fall out of the side holders sometimes. Large size makes it tempting to overfill.

Strong well thought out construction. Plenty of room. Excellent hip belt and straps. Makes heavy loads feel balanced.
None so far.

Solid construction. Super adjustable. Very comfortable even under heavy load.
I wish it were smaller because my dad got it for expedition stuff but I only use it for cragging.

Incredibly comfortable with heavier loads. This is my luxury pack for winter/climbing trips. Waterproofness is nice too, don't need the pack cover.
Heavier than some ultralight packs. Bulky too, not great for scrambling in tight places.
If you want a really comfortable pack with all the features and pockets, this is it. If you want a light one, check out the Osprey Aether or Granite Gear Virga.

bomb-proof pack, been backpacking everywhere with mine since 2000 - hip belts are much more comfortable than any other pack i could find
nalgene holders on sides could have been deeper - add a nalgene coozy to the side, which you'll do in Winter anyway, and you're good to go
if you're looking for a lighter alternative, you won't find anything as durable or comfortable as this backpack
