I'm looking for ideas. So ~3 weeks to go before the premier of one of the most anticipated tools that Spadout will release to date.
Take any cell phone; take a picture of any UPC code in any outdoor store in the world and instantly get Spadout price and review information.
The first version will be for the IPhone (which sadly has too weak of a camera so you'll have to enter the UPC), followed by an Android edition (the G1s camera is strong enough), Blackberry edition and we'll release a web based version which is compatible with all cell phone browsers.
So my question to you is what you'd like to see in this tool do? Don't worry about difficulty, feasibility etc.
Post here or Contact Us.
Thanks,
Mark (Founder of Spadout)

 | How does it work? Will it be MMS based or web based?

Hey Yang, It will be an installed application. For example the IPhone version will be an iphone application available in the store (for free of course).
There will also be a web based version for non-application installers. Both communicate with the Spadout server.
We could implement an MMS version but my initial reaction was that people with Iphones, blackberry's etc. would use it (a lot) more than users with only text msging.

 | Sick. Bummer about the IPhone but that's what I've read as well. If G1 works though I can already see it:
"Please check your mobile phones at the door of the gear shop"
Joking obviously. Keep it up.
