Hey,
How would you size this shoe? I have a size US 12, but with two nice wool socks, would you recommend a 13 for these bad boys? Also, how would you grade them on vertical ice climb or mixed terrain? Thanks!

Hi there,
They fit true to size, so if you usually go up a size for the double sock, you should do so with this one as well. They are medium in width.
I have heard that these boots are great for hiking and for alpine climbing because they are light, not too bulky, and not super stiff. These are generally good qualities to look for in an ice climbing boot as well. Most ice boots have sewn-in liners (which these don't), but perhaps the BOA lacing system would do the same thing to keep that heel locked down. People say that they have used them for ice/mixed, but they didn't rate the highest for that purpose.
So, I guess I am saying they would work, but what will you be using them for the most? If ice/mixed is going to be a major part of their usage, this is a great boot to check out too:
