Are these boots suited for high altitude climbs like the koflach arctis expe? In addition would you be so kind to help on the sizing issue. Are boots the equivalent of shoe sizes? I.E. if I am a US 11 would use a US 11 in double plastic or should we up size .5 a size? Are the Scarpa a wider foot accommodating design as well? Thanks for this!

Hey,
Actually this boot is designed more for technical mountianering to ice climbing. It is a double boot but it will not be warm enough for extreme cold temps. If you looking for an extreme temperature boot you will want to go with something else.
For sizing Scarpa uses the Euro sizing as the base and this is slightly complicated because of the greater number of sizes (which is a good thing). Here is the sizing chart.
They suggest a half size upsize, which is a good approximation.

 | With regards to Scarpa Omega, what are your impressions? Do you think they are good enough for Aconcagua or Denali? I could get the overboots as well if they aren't warm enough. Thanks!

I think this would be great--with an overboot. Lots of the reviews say that they were using it in Alaska. You could also ask Matt on Friday.
Also, I noticed that many of the reviews said it is on the narrow side.
