Hi - I'm interested in buying a snowboard for my daughter, and I need help. She is 14 years old, skied for several years, took up snowboarding this year. She went about 10 times this year, and can do a black diamond (but not comfortably). She is very athletic. She is 5'2" (may grow to 5'4", but not likely to get any taller than that) and 103 lbs.

We ski primarily in East Tennessee and W. North Carolina, where the snow is icy, frozen granular, and mashed potatoes. Only rarely do we see much powder.

I was considering either a Roxy Eminence BTX Banana Rocker (145cm) or a Roxy Eminence MTX (143cm). She's been using a 140cm rental. I'm interested to hear your opinion of those boards, as well as any others you can suggest for her. Would those (especially the BTX) be too long for her? Is the BTX worth the extra money?

Thanks so much,
Susan McMahon

Hey,

I would suggest the Roxy Eminence MTX, it has magnatraxion and will be good on the icy slopes. The banana rocker probably isn't needed for your daughter.

The Eminence is a great board for having lots of fun on the mountain. She will enjoy it.

Matt
