Hi! I'm deciding between the SC74 and the Harmony II. Last season I demo'd the Harmonys and they were amazing on the ice back east. I loved their lightness and ease of turning. Now I'm living in the Rockies with totally different skiing conditions and I'm not sure how well the Harmonys will do in even modest powder. The SC74 seems more versatile for western skiing (based on Rossi's on-piste/off-piste rating of this ski), but my primary concern is weight. Do you know how these compare? I can't find weight in any specs online. I'm also interested in your opinion regarding which is better for western skiing. Thanks! Laurie

Hey Laurie,

Being a transplant from the Ice Coast as well let me try and shed some light on these two skis. They are very similar skies The SC's get the off-piste nod because of the added width for better float which isn't saying a whole lot. 114/tip 74/waist 104/tail to the Harmony at 115 70 98 respectively. The SC's will be a bit stiffer as well which will really help on a powder day or just tracked out groomers. Any chance you could demo either one of these ski again? I think a lot has to be said about confidence on your equipment. Since you felt so good on these skis back east sometimes its hard to convince that one is better then the other in completely different conditions. The biggest con you might find with the Harmony is it might not be enough ski for you. The Harmony is made for novice to intermediate which might limit your progression out here in some of the best snow in the country. With that said if your main concern is weight I wouldn't worry about that. Both skis have very similar core materials which shouldn't make a difference one way or the other if you were picking on weight alone. I'd go with the SC If I had to choose between the two. Hope all of this is easy to digest.

Just the answer I was looking for! I'm going with the SC's. Thanks Tom!
