I'm looking for some new forks for my specialized mountain bike. I do light trails in the forest and 1-2 foot drops. Should I go with a suntour or a rock shox fork?
Thanks

 | Hello Chris,
I would say go with the Rock Shox Dart, a much better buy.

 | What can you tell me about the 2010 dart 3 shocks? I heard somewhere that the lockout doesn't work great

 | Well they are a great price point deal. The lockout I hear is sometimes troublesome. But I don't think you can get a better shock for the price. If you are willing to spend about 2x you get into the higher end.
If you are just enjoying yourself on the trails this is probably a good choice.

 | Word!!!
Depending on your riding style and age a $200 fork is just that inexpensive to meet the general purpose needs.

 | I also heard that the black paint likes to peel and chip off. What do you guys think?

 | Well,
Really that is an aesthetic issue. Touch it up with some black nail polish if it happens and bothers you.
