how can i use a petzl grigri to rope climb solo not sure the set up

It's not designed for rope soloing actually. You'll hear about mechanically modified gri gris and other tricks to make it work but I wouldn't recommend this (and nor does Petzl).
The correct tool is a: Rope Solo Belay Device. These are made exactly for the task you have in mind.
I've used the soloist for lead climbing and honestly it's a ton of work.
The silent parent is the most popular for lead climbing
but it's bulky and takes a lot of skill to use.
So anyways I'm not saying don't rope solo. I am saying be prepared for it to take a ton of work and require extensive practice / experience to do well.
For top rope only I recommend trying out:
which feeds very easily if you tie a static line and weight it (with your backpack or whatever) so there is constant tension.
Regardless of your solution though always use backup knots!
