I'd like your thoughts on a reasonably priced glove (could be the storm tracker or others) that is good for mountaineering, more of a softshell glove that has dexterity and some warmth so your hands don't freeze, but not so burly as an OR Alti glove. Do you have any gloves to recommend? Thanks

 | Sticking within the price range of the Storm Tracker Glove I would suggest you check out
Dexterity and breathability are the key components of the BD Punisher glove. These gloves however will not be the warmest out there and depending on where you are headed might not be the best choice.
A small step up in price from the Storm Tracker is this offering by Marmot:
These have primaloft insulation and a gore-tex XCR insert, top of the line materials for keeping you warm and dry.

 | I like both the Storm Tracker Glove and the Marmot Randonnee. I generally stay away from winter gloves with wrist straps, it's to easy to resrtict blood flow keeping them on. Both these gloves are thin enough to get big over-mittens on and off when needed. Another option is a good thin fleece or wool liner to keep on when dexterity is needed without risking frost bite/nip!
