Nemo Asashi
$289.95 - 449.99

Dear Guru,

I am really interested in getting Nemo Asashi 4 but before ordering, i would just like to know if the tent mesh has another layer of material that can be zipped up during colder nights and opened up on warm days?

Best,

Shehzad

Hello,

The tent has a full coverage fly, I added that picture as well.

If the weather does not look good, the fly will keep the wind out, keep you dry and fend off any other bad weather.

I believe what he is referring to is the material that can be zipped up over the mesh door and windows to seal them off, not the rain fly. This tent has a full mesh upper and therefore you will not be able to cover the mesh with a material in colder times. Try checking out extended season tents rather than 3 season tents, as they will have the features you are looking for.

Thank you. You got it right. I was not talking about the fly, but material that covers the mesh inside incase if it gets colder.

This is very helpful.

I know exactly what you mean, and no, I don't think it does have that option. I will double check at the gear shop tomorrow, but I don't recall seeing it.

Thank you so much Melisa. Much appreciate it. I understand that is this one does not have the zip able mesh cover, I will have to look into 3-4 or 4 season tent. Do you or anyone else know a good 3-4 season tent suitable for car camping that has room for 4? Can you recommend.

If you are just car camping then the sky is the limit. You don't have to worry about weight and packing space. If you are often encountering conditions of high winds and sideways rain then you want to make sure the rain fly reaches all the way to the ground. Almost every tent on the market is going to have some sort of mesh top that requires the rain fly to be "waterproof", but there are still models within that category that have a nylon covering for the mesh doors/windows. If you are looking to save money check out some of the Kelty tents. If price isn't something you're worried about then check out the Big Agnes and North Face options below.
