I am climbing Rainier in Sept. Is this considered a hard shell pant? Would this be a good choice for mountaineering expeditions?

Hi there,
Yes, this is a hardshell. Are you going with a group? If so, what did the list say as far as a shell pant? You could go with lighter, but then you wouldn't be able to glissade. These pants are pretty bomb-proof.
Some people prefer to hike in a soft shell pant for better breathability. Some people like a drop seat for doin' business.
