how does this shoe compare to the venom?

It's noticeably softer. The sole is thinner and almost non existant through the arch. The Speedster is the updated version of the mantra. It's great as a training shoe to improve foot strength and for overhung routes where you need lots of articulation and mobility.
I really like them, but they definitely aren't for everyone.
