Would these boots be good for winter hiking at moderate elevations, say below 10 thousand feet? Also, can you use them to go ice climbing?

Yes the would be good for hiking. Ice climbing I would be very hesitant because they only have a rear heel welt. If you want something good for ice climbing as well go with front and rear welt boots.
