Hi,
I'm new to to hiking/buying multi-day packs, so my question may be pretty simple or obvious. At any rate, I've noticed a lot of packs have removable lids that convert to lumbar packs, but I can't quite tell if that's the case with this one. I can see that the lid comes off, but haven't seen it described as wearable or useful in it's own right- is it?
Also, can a sleeping bag be attached to the outside of this pack? I'd rather not devote a huge amount of interior space to that.

Yes the lid is removable, but it can not be worn seperately. That was probably excluded in the interest of weight.
The pack is usually the last place you can trim weight, so the fast and light pursuit usually ends here. A light pack carrying heavy gear gets uncomfortable. If it's in your budget, a good sleeping bag cuts down a ton of extra weight and bulk. if it isn't in the budget, spend a bit less on the pack and go shopping for a smaller bag.
