Hi there,
Normally a pro model would be a little hard for new riders, but because this is a freestyle board, with a medium flex (and Gnu boards are soft anyway), I would say it would be a great board to learn your turns on.
Later on, if you decide you are more of a free-rider, you may want to get something a little stiffer torsionally.
