They are going to be great in the gym and for bouldering. If you go a little small on the sizing (which a lot of people do in slippers because you can take them off easily while you belay), you could get away with them outside, but you may want a lace-up for cracks and edging outside.

About sizing: they already run pretty small -- a whole size small! I barely squeeze into the 11s, and normally wear 10s. So I snagged the deal at gearx, and am very happy with these.

I won't be wearing them for multipitch or long days of moderate routes, better suited to bouldering or hard sport.
