Hey there,
It depends where you like to put your foot. I like my stomp pad right up against my back binding. You could put a piece of tape down on the edge of your binding for each spot you think you might adjust your stance for. And then stick on the studs somewhere that is close but won't be in the way for any stance.
Some people put em right in the middle, but I don't know how they ride like that when their foot is out.
