Hi there,

This year's Ion has their new Dryride liner, which supposedly wicks better and dries quicker, keeping your feet warmer, which can't be bad.

They also have a lighter, lower-profile midsole, which is supposed to keep your center of balance lower and to improve the feel of the board. I am not sure how I feel about that yet, but I do like lower bulk.

And, I don't think last years boots had the little removable gel heel inserts with varying levels of dampening that you could adjust for the terrain/snow conditions. I don't know if they did that to make up for the less beefy midsole, but I don't really like the idea of gel in footwear. I know people like their Dr. Scholls, but I have heard from some good sources that your foot has to compensate for the movement in the gel, causing fatigue.
