Does the whippet have a cover for the blade for the down?

Yes, I bought two Whippets (one for my wife) strait from BD and they came with black diamonds pick protectors. Know that you may want the protectors off for many sections of down if you cross icy areas; they are not just for climbing. They are a great tool and have come in handy several times
